I had been taking my golden retriever to Bubbles N Bows for a couple years, and had always been COMPLETELY satisfied. Reasonable prices and VERY friendly staff. A year-and-a-half ago, I moved to Columbus and was unable to bring her down. Recently, however, my mom started caring for my golden retriever, so I began taking her back to Bubbles N Bows. I told them to trim her up, especially her hind end and maybe a little on her body since it was summer. The look of confusion on the groomer's face was astounding. I'd never had a problem before, they usually know exactly what I mean. Did they get new staff? Well, I picked her up later that day, and she was shaved! My beautiful golden retriever looked like a little boy with a bad chop job! I'm taking her back one more time, but if they mess up again, any suggestions where I could take her?

I was greeted by nice cordial staff. Apparently I did not communicate clearly regarding my request to have my dog groomed, by saying cut and trim for easy maintenance, stating that I had no problem brushing my dog. I mentioned that my dog was somewhat matted underneath. Upon return, I was taken aback to see that my dog was shaved. I do not recall requesting or saying the word "shave". Nor do I recall hearing the lady state that she was going to shave him. Needless to say I have a clean shaven dog that does not look like a Cocker Spaniel but instead a mutt. I take responsibility because whenever you are communicating verbally with someone, a visual picture can usually ensure that both parties understand what is desired. I took it for grated that when I brought my dog that looked and is cocker spaniel would also look like a Cocker Spaniel when I returned to pick him up and I assumed that the groomer understood what I was saying to her and that she had groomed a Cocker Spaniel before. Unfortunately, I am new to the city and upon visiting the Human Society, I asked for a dog groomer referal instead of asking friends or neighbors. This review is just to alert others to not make the same mistake. I tipped the groomer because I always try to be professional when doing business even when it sometimes is a lesson learned. In addition, I read the other 2 reviews online and felt that this shop was probably a safe bet. Later, I wondered why another staff member other than the groomer brought my dog out to me...... The cost of the grooming was reasonable but costly considering how my Cocker Spaniel looks.
